Before you commit
Tell me about your room.
Send me a photograph of the wall and whatever you already know. I'll come back with what size works in that space, what it would cost, and an honest word if I think a different piece would suit it better.
How to take the photo
This is the part that decides whether I can judge the scale properly. Two minutes with a phone is plenty.
Stand square on to the wall. Not at an angle — face it straight, with the phone held level rather than tilted up or down.
Step back far enough to see both lines — where the wall meets the floor, and where it meets the ceiling. Both need to be in the frame. That's what tells me how big the wall really is.
Leave the furniture in. A sofa or a doorway gives me something of known size to measure against.
Normal light is fine. It doesn't need to be a good photograph — it needs to be a clear one.
If the floor or the ceiling line is missing, or the phone was tilted, I can still look — I just can't tell you with any confidence what size will feel right, which is usually the thing people most want to know.
